Amy Smart, an American model, actress and actor. Amy Smart was raised in California, USA. Amy Smart began the modeling profession in Italy. Her first acting role was in 1996's TV film Her Costly Affair. From there to starring in a minor role in the movie Starship Troopers she struggled very for a long time. It was very difficult for her to transition from modelling to acting as models were not considered to be good actors and were mostly assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy persevered. She worked her way up to greater roles, starting with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. The 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends, which also included Ryan Reynolds, saw her play larger roles. It was a huge film at the box office and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been trying for for more than 10 years. She continued to do major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved regular character.
